Well, it looks like this place is seeing it's last days. If any of you are interested in what the plan is, I suggest checking out http://www.gameballista.com" target="_blank

The long and short of it is that I have been thinking about expanding this place - to make it broader in content than just d20. I had hoped it would be just that, then, to be honest, I was caught off guard by ENWorld, a huge d20 site, in having both 3e and 4e forums. That, of course, seriously cut into the potential membership of this site.

And it strikes me that much of the discussion here was not d20 focused. Don't get me wrong, there have been some very interesting discussions and I've been very happy with the small group of sharp people that honored me by checking the place out. I wish it could have fulfilled my vision, but in this, I failed.

So, about the time I figured I would broaden the scope, a good friend of mine, Bill/Hinterwelt, had decided to start his own site that was an RPG discussion site with a similar focus. It didn't seem to make much sense to have two burgeoning RPG discussion sites, particularly when we know each other and have, essentially, the same goals.

So, sometime in the near future, I'll be changing this site and making it, for the most part if completely, an archive. Over the next couple of days I'll be checking the permissions and changing them (I hope) so that anybody can look at the posts here, but no new posts will be allowed. Some things I will likely move/copy to the new site.

Yup - a new site. And in keeping some continuity, I'll be teaming with Bill to start TheRPGHaven. If you try http://www.therpghaven.com" target="_blank" target="_blank now, it will likely send you one of Hinterwelt's pages. But some time in the near future it will lead to a new place for discussions - "to have a good place to discuss games with light moderation policies and a free exchange of ideas." In the interim, it's at the http://www.gameballista.com" target="_blank" target="_blank address. I truly hope you'll come join us. It's likely to be a great place to talk about RPG's.

Oh...and I'll be the Admin over there too. So watch yourself, boys and girls - you know how I like to bring the mod hammer down! That's how you say it, right? Mod-Hammer?

ETA: I've left the Help Desk Forum open to posts for the time being. Everything else is closed to posting but can be viewed by Guests and Registered User alike. And I can't stress this enough, given how much I've loved talking with you all, come on over to the new site and join!
